PA Housing has been granted £181.730,000 by The Greater London Authority (GLA) to deliver a total of 1,455 homes in the capital over the next five years.
A total of 930 of the new homes will be for social rent, and 525 for affordable home ownership, enabling London residents to get a foot on the housing ladder.
We already own and manages over 8,000 homes in London, and the new homes being developed though the GLA's Affordable Homes Programme are part of the organisation's ongoing commitment to growth and providing much needed homes in the city.
The GLA – London's strategic authority – has a total of £3.46bn in affordable housing grant to enable housing associations, local authorities and for-profit housing providers to collectively build more than 29,000 homes. PA Housing was one of 53 organisations to be granted a share of the £3.46bn funding, securing the second highest amount allocated to any one organisation.
We plan to deliver 6,000 good-quality social homes across London, the South East and the Midlands by 2030, with more than 1,000 homes currently on site and a strong pipeline of schemes coming forward.
Outside of London, the government's grant funding programme is managed by Homes England, and PA Housing will be delivering new homes across the wider South East and the Midlands via funding secured by Accent Housing, which is one of Homes England's strategic partners.
PA is one of Accent's three delivery partners, who who will be working together to deliver 3,300 new affordable homes of all tenures across the country.
Chris Whelan, Executive Director of Development and Sales at PA Housing, said:
“We are thrilled to have been so successful in our bids for this funding, which will allow us to have a huge impact in our communities in London and beyond. At PA, we've made a commitment to delivering as many truly affordable social rented homes as possible, and we're going to be able to do this via the Affordable Homes Programme. Our team is now looking forward to getting on with delivering the good-quality homes people so badly need."
