Helping to transform a community space
2023 - March, Our news
Colleagues from across PA joined local residents to start to transform an under used community space into something the whole neighbourhood can enjoy at Beloe Close, London.
On the day, the activities included litter picking the estate, tidying the garden areas, sweeping leaves, turning over soil, clearing dead branches, removing dumped items, assisting residents with their own front gardens, and door knocking to engage with residents across the estate.
Barnes Community Gardeners also attended and they started the day by briefing everyone in attendance. This included Shah (one of our Neighbourhood Champions), local councillors, and many of the residents from Beloe Close who wanted to help out.
One resident very kindly provided tea, coffee, and biscuits, and Barnes Community Gardeners supplied all the equipment, including gloves, rubbish bags, and garden tools.
The day was a huge success with great feedback from the residents. They are looking forward to the next event day soon!
